Description
Wayhaven is a thriving, busy metropolis, located centrally within the plains of Fantasy. Although a turbulent past has left the city scarred and war-torn, it is a city in renewal, trying to raise itself up out of its unpleasant past.
On entering the city through the portal you will find yourself in the city market square. Here you will usually find the Wayhaven bazaar, with crowds of locals and visitors alike looking to find themself a bargain. To your south you will see the Wayhaven Citadel looming over the city. Sightseers may take a stroll around the walls of the citadel if they wish, although unfortunately the building itself is pretty much off limits to the general public. To the east of you is Wayhaven old town. If you follow Riverford Drive east, you will pass the impressive marble facades of the Administration district to your south, crouching in the protective shadow of the Citadel. To the north you will find The Mews. Travellers are advised to avoid this area of the city, due to recent difficulties the city guard currently refuses to patrol there.
Further east, you will find the entrance to Bayside and the Lowtown Docks. For visitors of a less discerning nature, there are several diversions to be found here. To the north of Bayside, pressed up against the city walls, is Wayhaven Lowtown, where the majority of the city's underclass live and work. You will find a number of shops and services for sale here considerably cheaper than in the Merchants Guild approved establishments in the north of the city. The easternmost gate of the city at the end of Riverford Drive,leads you out into the great Eastern Forest.
Heading north from the Marketplace instead of east will lead you up Iceview Avenue, past the famous Wayhaven Arena to your east, and on towards the Trade District to the north east, where you will find the more sucessful merchants trading gems and other valuable goods. To your west over the wall of Everlynd Park Maze you can see the Garden District spreading out as far as the western end of the city. Carrying on, you will eventually reach the magnificent northern gate, with its surrounding guard towers, protecting the city from the wilds of the cold northern plain. Arcadia Boulevard leads you west from the city square out towards the Hightown. Here you will find the houses of the most affluent residents of Wayhaven, with some splendid views over the garden district to the north. Hightown is also the seat of learning within Wayhaven, and houses both the University with its famous Aramathea Library and the main city temples. It also pays host to the Bards and Priests guilds, who have chosen to take up residence within this pleasent area of the city. To the south of Hightown you will find the Hightown Docks, where you may charter a ferry to a number of the main islands within Dragonspine Bay and the great southern ocean.
At the end of Arcadia Boulevard is the Western Gate, which will lead you out onto the western fantasy plains.
Wayhaven has a very rich history and a varied population. There are plenty of sights to be seen and experiences to keep even the most experienced of visitors amused, and there is always something new waiting to be discovered.
