Individual hits can have mixed damage types (i.e. a hit from a poisoned blade could do both poison and edged in the same hit).
The damage types and resistances of specific mobs can make your choice of weapons and armour very important. Some mobs can be very susceptable to one specific damage type, making some weapons far more effective than others and some mobs can cause huge amounts of one type of damage that can rapidly kill you without the right type of armour on.
Most mobs cause Edged and/or Blunt damage but the larger the mob, the more likely it will be to do a non-Edged/Blunt damage type or have a special attack.
- Edged: Damage from sources such as swords, daggers or a broken bottle of Jack Daniels as well as the teeth or sharp claws of some fell beast.
- Blunt: Damage dealt by fists, clubs, maces as well as a brick falling on your head pushed out of a window by some sick pervert.
- Fire: Damage caused by heating the target above comfortable levels.
- Ice: Damage caused by removing the thermal energy from the target, so as to lower their temperature.
- Acid: Caustic damage caused by the chemical reaction with some type of acid, usually in liquid form.
- Electrical: Damage caused by becoming part of a high current electrical circuit. When electricity wants to ground itself, it's best not to be the path of least resistance.
- Mind: Psionic damage dealt directly to the brain, by magical mental attacks, stun effects or seeing certain things on the internet that can never be unseen.
- Energy: A catchall category for "pure energy" attacks which do not fall under another category. Often from magical or very high tech sources.
- Poison: Dealt by the venom of certain beasts, or intentionally brewed poisons. Can be introduced in many forms, including fast food.
- Radiation: Damage caused by exposure to high energy particles resulting from radioactive decay. Usually does not result in super powers.
