This is my personal cooking page. It states my Hypothesis of how it works. I did steal information from the main cooking to give it an instruction feel to it. Thanks to all of those that help with cooking.

Basics

Ingredients for cooking is gathered by the farming career. To cook you need at least two different types of ingredients. You place the ingredient in the cooking pot (nw, n, ne, se, kitchen from Chavee) and a time from 0 to 30. You then name the recipe and cook it.

Each plant has a type of bonus that it gives. When combined you can get extra bonus or longer durations if you can balance the flavors you have combined.

Syntax

From the cookpot:

  • review [nice|brief]
  • name <recipename>

  • The flavours are a decent mix. It's not unpleasant. = L1

I beleive that the higher the level you get the better the extra bonus you can get for a recipe. L1 will just give you the combination of you ingreds. i.e. +1 dex from Afl sprout, +1 from eggplant. The stat can be higher if you hit a higher potency for that plant. THe extra bonuses seem mostly to be in the form of hp/sp regen both normal and overmax.

Fatness Affects

The better the food the more stuffed you feel.

Duration Messages

  • Oh, you're going to be tasting that one for a while. (Twice as long as the base) = D2
  • Hmm, that might hang around for a bit. (Base time) = D1

The Duration has bee normalized and lengthen. Right now seems to be between 3-6 hours in length for any one buff.

Hypothesis

I believe that each ingredient has flavor ranges and potency levels. This flavors and potency levels and when combined with other ingredence are what allow the recipe to get the highest levels. Knowing how an ingredient will react will allow use to be able to mix and match ingredients for the greatest afftect. The idea is to balance the flavors. For example if you put a numerical value to it F1 = 4 and F2 = -4 The end result would be 4 + -4 = 0(blanced) = WoW! The flavor/potency message would be This food tastes F1 and F2! WOW!! That's delicious!!!

Questions to be answered

Does insert order affect the results? i.e If I do insert Sprout at 5 then insert Pepper at 15 get the same results as insert Pepper at 15 and insert sprout at 5.

 I think order does not matter but have not proven it for sure.

Is there a difference between the order on favors list in a message. i.e:

 *This food tastes sour,bitter and salty!
 *This food tastes bitter,sour and salty!

Are these the same or different. Does it give the order of the level of the favors? Or just randomly picked? or some place inbetween.


How does cooking skill affect a recipe? Thought is that is would give you a better change to increase the Quality of ingreds. i.e a Higher skilled cook would have a better chance to make "Good" ingred "Superiour" in quality

How does quality of ingred affect a recipe? Thought is that it would affect the level of bonus. ie. a Legendary would give +3 Sup. +2 etc. Like the enchanters' gemchant. Alternate thought is it could affect the potecy of an ingredient.

Do plants that are the same bonus type share similar flavor ranges/potency? i.e Is the Avocado(Level 6) simular to a Baby Eggplant (Level 10) both give con

Farming

Several people have asked how I have my aliases and macros set for farming. So I figured I would place it here. I use portal so keep that in mind.

Also I think of feeding as giving plants units of the feed. These are based on the following:

  • little = 1
  • some = 2
  • lots = 3.5

The feed commands will then take the amount you want to feed and process the correct amount. No decimel point so you have to add the 0 for the place. (10.0=100)

Example ferthappy 100 would give:

Having the commands built this way gives me the ability to change the amounts I am feeding a plant when trying to firgure out it's recipe. There are many ways to try and figure out plants. This one is mine. This process almost makes for easy repeating of growing plants for me to use in my cooking. I am not the best farmer out there. I enjoy the cooking puzzle a lot more but you have to farm to cook, so I work on it as best I can. If you have any questions about either just ask. Sharing info is the only way we will get it worked out. Hoarding info is for loser and snobs who think they are better then everyone else.
