  This is a retractable shield made of telescopic layers of composite
  alloy implanted into either forearm. When activated, the shield deploys
  to its full size, creating a barrier to the physical attacks of an
  enemy. When used properly, this implant provides a modest level of
  protection against sharp objects and crushing blows.
