Smiths take the raw components of mining to produce armours and weapons.

They can also integrate enchanting gems into their products.

[[:category:Jewels|Jewels]] are mined by [[Mining|Miners]] which are then used by [[Enchanting|Enchanters]] along with fragments, essences, and hearts; to make gems for [[Wrangling|Wranglers]] to charge. These empowered gems can then be used by [[Enchanting|Enchanters]] or Smiths to enhance armours and weapons.

In gear smithed with a gem, the gem's effect is built into the piece (and can be further gemchanted) after the piece is finished by the smith.

==Mouldings==

For optimum cxping, it is best to make the most advanced level stuff you can that does not use fragments. (Or uses fewer if you have to choose between 1 vs. 2.) Minor gem = fragment = 1, standard gem = essence = 5, major gem = heart 25.

==Additional Effects==
Smithed gear has additional effects besides standard ac values!

For example:
*Superior and Legendary qualities add [[Special Melee Defense]] to the equipment. Better eq gives a higher bonus: e.g. Legendary gives a higher special than Superior and Mithril gives a higher bonus than Bronze.
*Wearing multiple pieces from the same material grant additional properties.
*Many items can be buffed with [[Gems]] to convey AC or stats bonuses.
